Recent caisson removal project in the Gulf of Mexico. On this specific job, there were two braced caisson platforms. One was 36” OD for the entire exposed elevation. The other bottlenecked from 60” subsea to 48” at the top. For this project, Mactech Offshore drilled pin holes in the caissons for lifting and made two cuts on each. One below mudline, and one above. The two cuts were made to reduce the weight of the lifts to what the liftboat on the job could handle.
