Time is the real cost when you’re working offshore. Mactech builds and runs the gear that gets subsea and topside cuts done right the first time, helping you avoid buying back time you’ve already spent. Every product on our shelves is designed and built by our team. That’s 50+ years of field lessons in every piece of equipment. We build for machinists because we are machinists.
Whether you’re working below the waterline or above it, Mactech’s diamond wire saws are built for the harshest cutting conditions you can find. Our in-line saws run the industry’s largest range (4.5-120 inches), and our ROV-compatible models cut where divers can’t go, making them perfect for multi-string casing, heavy wall legs, and cross members. When downtime costs six figures a day, reliability matters. That’s why crews choose Mactech.
The ID Sever does one job: cut a pile clean without putting a diver in the water. In Alaska’s Cook Inlet, 35-foot tidal swings cut dive windows down to 20-minute chunks. Our ID Sever cut eight pipes — running 205 feet and weighing 103,000 pounds each — at the mudline, no diver required. The alternative was an abrasive waterjet crew that would’ve cost more per cut and taken weeks to mobilize. Mactech finished the job on time and on budget.
Mactech’s clamshell lathes are precision pipe-cutting and beveling machines built for decommissioning and on-site construction alike. The line runs a half-inch clear up to 110 inches. Whatever you’re cutting, there’s a clamshell lathe in our lineup that’s already been proven on a job like yours.
They get a good understanding of the scope of work. The right questions are asked. If we have the scope of work from a client, we can sit down with the Mactech team, decide if it’s the right tool and which route to go.
As far as Diamond Wire Saws go, Mactech’s are about as satisfying as it gets.
They’re a good company. They’ve been around for a long time, and we’ve been using them for a long time. I’ve been in the industry for about 20 years, and throughout all the different companies that I’ve worked with, we’ve used Mactech or worked with Mactech. They hold a very good reputation.
They are second to none. Mactech is one of our great suppliers and I love the fire in them. We looked into other providers, but there was no doubt Mactech had superior equipment. We’ve purchased a lot of equipment from Mactech, and we come back because it’s a superior product. The way they build their equipment is significantly different from other people. I’m very happy with Mactech.
We’re industry leaders in subsea cutting solutions for good reason. From first survey to final cut, you work with folks who know rigs and the tools that cut them. We build the gear, maintain it and run it in the field, so we stand behind every job. That’s the Mactech Offshore difference.
